Kids' Yoga at Healium: Term 4 Sessions!

Last week our Kids' Yoga program got a nice write-up in local paper The Wellingtonian (and online affiliate www.stuff.co.nz). Healium director Jenifer Parker and teacher Isa Pike were interviewed about the benefits of yoga for children, and Healium's very own Hawk made the front page! The Term 4 sessions will be starting soon, so today we're reposting our original blog, updated with the new session dates for Term 4. If you have any questions about the program, please contact us!

Children love moving their bodies, and yoga is a great way for them to have fun and explore their growing capacities. So we're excited to offer our Kids' Yoga courses to families in the Wellington CBD!

In these classes children ages 3 to 5 will learn a number of basic yoga poses, work together in pairs and as a group, and develop an increased awareness of their bodies.

Sessions run 2.15-3.15 pm on Tuesdays, with yoga practice starting at 2.30 and ending at 3.00. Parents or caregivers attend with their children.

Kids' Yoga at Healium is led by yoga instructor, early-childhood educator and mother Isa Pike, running in terms in line with the school schedule:

Help us support local children's education!

Kids' Yoga at Healium supports the Wellington City Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten and the Wilton Playcentre. For each student per class Healium will contribute $1 to these organizations.

Registration and pricing

Session A (five classes): $55 prepaid
Session B (four classes): $44 prepaid

Each class is limited to 15 children (each with a parent or caregiver). Registration required - email us at hi@healium.co.nz or call on 04 499 0334.

About the teacher: Isa Pike

Isa writes: "The magical time of childhood has been my chosen world since my early teens. I went from babysitting to nannying to primary teaching and then back to nannying. Now I have a child of my own and focus on and enjoy being a mother. I also love spending time with the children at the Playcentre. I've been doing yoga for about 15 years and am excited to bring my passions together in these classes!"
